Methodology
Where dates come from
Every date is taken from the vendor's own lifecycle page or end-of-life bulletin. Each date on a model page links to that source and shows the day we last checked it. We only cite pages on these vendor domains: cisco.com, fortinet.com, sonicwall.com, watchguard.com, sophos.com, juniper.net, paloaltonetworks.com.
Third-party databases may help us find the vendor's page, but we never cite them as the source.
What we don't do
- We never estimate or infer a date. If we can't read a vendor source, the date is left blank and the page is marked Unverified and hidden from search engines.
- We don't show prices.
How status is worked out
- Supported: no end of sale announced.
- End of sale: no longer sold; support continues for more than 12 months, or no end of support has been announced.
- Support ending soon: support ends within 12 months.
- Unsupported: past the last date of support.
- Unverified: we haven't yet confirmed the dates with the vendor.
Keeping it current
We re-check records older than 90 days. Vendors change dates, so always confirm with the vendor.
